Spectrum is a superb JavaScript gallery plugin, which will work with jQuery, as an AMD Module or a browser global. It has support for image cropping, true to proportion image sizes and perfect image alignment. It can filter images, and supports multiple filters as well. It is perfect for portfolio and gallery website design along with its smooth transitions. Its fully extendable, easy and fast to set up, well documented, and supported. These Are The Features

Customizable – Spectrum is fully customizable, in very deep and empowering ways, for example you could create your own compositions which control the way images are animated during filters. Is there an image animation style that is missing? No problem. You could extend the image method library by adding your own methods, which could, lets say, rotate an image as it slides into position. Want more easing curves? You can extend that animation library too! Fast Setup – Setting up straight away is ridiculously easy, almost every option has a default, the only thing you would need to do is supply the images, and the parent element to which the gallery is appended to. You don event have to supply the width information; spectrum will get it from the parent if it has one specified. Really Smart – Spectrum is really smart, it can crop images for you, or set them true to proportion. If images are set true to proportion, spectrum will chose the best combination of images so that each combination fills up the most row space, kinda like arranging tiles in your bathroom. Any Grid Type – Spectrum can fit to be any size grid, you can custom set the height and width of the images. You can make perfect square grids, or any size rectangular grids and have as many grid blocks per row as you wish… Align Types – Spectrum has various aligns types, kind of like with text except better. You can chose for your images to align to the right, or left or even justify, which would look like you were aligning text, which produces a cool effect. Or you could chose the “fill” align type which will make sure that if there is empty space in the row, all the images will scale until they fill it up, producing beautifully fitted galleries that are true to proportion. Minimal HTML : – And i mean minimal, the only piece of html code required to make spectrum work is a single tag, that being the element on which to create the gallery. All the little things like gallery and image creation is handled by the plugin, you only have to specify the url for each image. True To Proportion – Display images in their true proportion and don’t worry about them fitting together, spectrum will take care of all that. What you will be left with is a beautiful gallery which fits perfectly all its images. Multiple Tag Filtering – Spectrum can handle multiple tags being searched at the same time, it can also do other magic with tags, such as add an “all” tag, which can also be any text you desire, you can also tell Spectrum which tag to start the gallery on. Adaptive & Fullscreen – Spectrum can go full screen if you want it regardless of size. Also Spectrum can map to the size of its parent element, so if you have implemented responsive design, whenever a different device views the page, the gallery will change size if its parent element changes size. Sugar – Spectrum can handle you doing things your way. You can set it up with no effort at all, or you can be as verbose as you like. So verbose in fact that you can extend parts of it to do things in completely new ways. Be it using new curves, image specific animation, or entire compositions that orchestrate the moment of the gallery. Finger Licking Good! Versatile – Spectrum is a pure js module and has no library or decadencies. So you never have to worry about running it with any setup. It comes as an jQuery plugin, AMD module or a browser global. Support – Spectrum grantees you full lifetime support from your’s dearest. For any inquiry or questions you may have. Gallery Cover – Spectrum has cool gallery cover option, which allows you to use a single image, as the cover of the gallery. This can be useful when used as a loading screen whilst your gallery images load in the background, and can be set to swipe away as soon as they have loaded. Or you can leave it there for the user to click away, serving as an introduction to the artwork. You can specify five different transitions for it, and height. Upgrades – There will be plenty of sweet stuff down the road for us, my friend, and I’m not just talking about bug fixes! I’m talking big updates, with new features and awesome stuff.

Image Binding Spectrum has an api which allows you to bind to any kind of event that may happen on any of the gallery images. You can bind one method to multiple events, or multiple methods to different events, in three different ways the choice is yours. Its got your back.
